Commission Approves B-U Rec Park Hometown Olympics

In the regularly scheduled Upshur County Commission Meeting on Thursday, February 12, 2015, the Commission voted to grant the request from the Buckhannon-Upshur Parks and Recreation Advisory Board to use monies held in the Wellness Complex Fund.  These funds will be used for overhead costs assocaited with the First-Annual Buckhannon-Upshur Hometown Olympics.  The event will be held on June 6-7, 2015 at the B-U Recreational Park and will consist of a triathlon, pool party, backyard olympic games, costume contest, bouncy houses and great fun for everyone in the family.  If you are interested in participating in the triathlon, or would like to volunteer, please attend a Parks and Recreation Advisory Board meeting on the second Monday of each month at 6:00 pm in the Commission Meeting Room of the Courthouse Annex.
